Terms & Conditions

1. Reservation & Payment

  1. A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation, unless otherwise stated.
  2. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to departure. Failure to pay on time is considered a cancellation by the passenger.
  3. For trips booked with less than 30 days' notice, full payment is required at the time of booking.
  4. Bank wire transfers must be made in US dollars. Any transfer fees charged by your bank must be covered by the sender.
  5. Rates, programs, and prices are based on current foreign exchange values and tariffs, and are subject to change without prior notice.
  6. Confirming or paying for a tour constitutes your full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

2. Travel Insurance

  1. Pionero Travel strongly recommends that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance prior to travel.
  2. Purchasing and maintaining adequate travel insurance is the sole responsibility of the client. Pionero Travel will not be held liable for costs arising from lack of coverage.

3. Modifications, Cancellations & Refunds

  1. Pionero Travel reserves the right to modify or cancel any tour due to operational matters or weather conditions. When possible, a comparable alternative will be offered. If not, a full or partial refund will be issued.
  2. Pionero Travel reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service to any client at any time. Refunds in such cases will reflect the actual cost of unused services.
  3. No-shows at the designated meeting point and time are not eligible for a refund.
  4. Purchased flights are non-refundable under any circumstances.
  5. All cancellations must be submitted in writing. The following cancellation fees apply:
    • 60+ days before arrival: Refund issued minus vendor expenses, cancellation fees, and deposits.
    • 31 to 45 days before arrival: A Pionero Travel cancellation fee of 10% of the total booking will be applied.
    • 30 days or less before arrival: No refund. This includes any missed days or unused services during the tour.
  6. Special requests (room type, bed preferences, tour modifications) will be accommodated where possible, but cannot be guaranteed.

4. Limitation of Liability

  1. Pionero Travel is a company incorporated in Chile. We arrange transportation, accommodation, guides, and other services through independent third-party suppliers that operate outside of our direct control.
  2. Our programs involve outdoor physical activity and contact with nature, which inherently carry some level of risk. Pionero Travel cannot be held liable for death, personal injury, or loss resulting from acts or omissions by suppliers or events beyond our control.
  3. Confirming or paying for a tour constitutes your acceptance of this limitation of liability.

5. Baggage & Personal Belongings

  1. Baggage, personal effects, and any purchased items are the sole responsibility of their owner at all times.
  2. No Pionero Travel employee or agent is authorized to accept belongings for storage or safekeeping.
  3. Pionero Travel is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Any shipping costs for items left behind will be charged to the client.
